Calculator Policy
You are permitted an on-screen four-function calculator for the entire Math section. Use it strategically — for complex calculations, not mental arithmetic on simple problems.
Top Strategy Tips
- Eliminate obvious wrong answers first to improve guessing odds
- Write out your work — don't try to do multi-step problems mentally
- For word problems, underline the question before reading the passage
- Budget 1.5 minutes per question and flag difficult ones for review
- Know your metric conversions cold: nursing requires them daily
